What Does Worry Free Podcasting Look Like?

It means not having to worry about buying the wrong equipment. It means not worrying about wasting your money - you can cancel anytime during your first 30 days and get your money back. It means getting one-on-one coaching with a TEACHER who wants you to learn and grow and not upsell you on 20 more products. You can do this. I help podcasters. It's what I do, and I can't wait to see what we do together.

Dave Jackson

Today, as I've been doing the last, I don't know, decade, I ask you, what's your favorite podcast?

Dave Jackson

But really what I'm asking is why?

Dave Jackson

Because as content creators, we want to make content that resonates with people in a way that inspires them to tell a friend.

Dave Jackson

And so I asked you, what's your favorite podcast?

Dave Jackson

Tell us a little bit about it and tell us why it's your favorite podcast.

Dave Jackson

And then of course, I always share the stage.

Dave Jackson

Tell us a little bit about your show and where we can find it.

Dave Jackson

And this is the 2024 version and I've not heard these yet, so we're going to listen to them together.

Dave Jackson

Hit it, ladies.

Dave Jackson

The school of podcasting with Dave Jackson.

Dave Jackson

Podcasting since 2005, I am your award winning hall of Fame PODC coach, Dave Jackson.

Dave Jackson

Thanking you so much for tuning in.

Dave Jackson

If you are new to the show, I help you plan, I help you launch, I help you grow.

Dave Jackson

And if you want to monetize your podcast, my website is schoolofpodcasting.com use the coupon code listnr when you sign up for either a monthly or yearly subscription.

Dave Jackson

And so we're gonna hop right into it.

Dave Jackson

I asked you, what's your favorite podcast and why?

Dave Jackson

The tricky part, and I know is that, well, you only get to pick one.

Dave Jackson

So we're gonna start off, as we often do, with the one and only Steve Stewart.

Dave Jackson

You can find him at stevestewart Me.

Dave Jackson

He is the man behind the Podcast Editors Academy.

Dave Jackson

Take it away, Mr.

Dave Jackson

Stewart.

Ron Eastwood

Hey, SOP family.

Ron Eastwood

It's Steve Stewart, podcast editor for personal finance podcasters and now co host of the Podcast Editors Mastermind show, which we just started hosting that show starting in November of 2024 here with my favorite podcast of all time.

Ron Eastwood

Well, we'll say of 2024, but it's been my favorite podcast for many years.

Ron Eastwood

It's still the Stacking Benjamin Show.

Ron Eastwood

If you don't know the Stacking Benjamin show yet, I highly recommend it.

Ron Eastwood

The show is released three days a week.

Ron Eastwood

They're about an hour long or more, but it's a variety show about every 15 minutes the hosts go into something different, whether it's a headline or.

Ron Eastwood

Or they're talking about something that somebody put out on TikTok with some really great or usually bad advice about money.

Ron Eastwood

They have a guest interview on most days Friday episodes.

Ron Eastwood

They have a roundtable discussion around a blog post or something like that, which really gets to be, well, kind of hilarious at times, hearing the different viewpoints of each person.

Ron Eastwood

On the Roundtable.

Ron Eastwood

So this isn't a how to.

Ron Eastwood

Although there is a lot of learning that can be done listening to the Stacking Management show, but it is definitely what money nerds like.

Ron Eastwood

So if you want to learn about personal finance in a nice, lighthearted way, go check out the Stacking Benjamin Show.

Ron Eastwood

You can find them@stackingbenjamins.com Beware.

Ron Eastwood

Three days a week, one hour each.

Ron Eastwood

It's a lot, but if you just want to check out one episode, I recommend trying the roundtable discussion from December 13th.

Ron Eastwood

Yeah, Friday the 13th.

Ron Eastwood

Although it had nothing to do with Friday the 13th.

Ron Eastwood

Go back, listen to that episode because I have never edited more laughter in my life.

Ron Eastwood

And it's not like a whole bunch of inside jokes that you won't get.

Ron Eastwood

If you've never listened to the Stacking Benjamin show, you'll still get the jokes.

Ron Eastwood

You're still part of the of the fun.

Ron Eastwood

Check out the December 13, 2024 episode of the Stacking Benjamin show at stackingbenjamins.com this has been Steve Stewart, your friend, podcast editor of personal finance podcasts, and now co host of the Podcast Editors Mastermind show, which of course you can find in your favorite podcast app.

Ron Eastwood

Thanks, Dave.

Dave Jackson

Thank you, Steve.

Dave Jackson

And yes, the Stacking Benjamin show is a great example of just coloring way outside the box without leaving the box.

Dave Jackson

Like they're still talking finances, but they're, they're doing it in a very creative, very entertaining kind of way.

Dave Jackson

Hey David, Ralph from the Ask Ralph show, your daily dose of financial wisdom.

Ron Eastwood

From a Christian perspective.

Dave Jackson

You can find my podcast@ask Ralph.com Again, that's Ask Ralph.com and you asked a.

Ron Eastwood

Question this month is what is your favorite podcast?

Dave Jackson

And I got to say, my favorite podcast of 2024 was Ask the Podcast Coach.

Ron Eastwood

And I know you know where to find that.

Ron Eastwood

But the reason I say that is.

Dave Jackson

It blends several elements that I really appreciate in podcasting.

Ron Eastwood

It is all about interacting with the audience through the live show.

Ron Eastwood

If you missed a live show, you.

Dave Jackson

Can check it out as a podcast afterwards.

Ron Eastwood

But I gotta be honest, it is the place where I have really gotten a lot of knowledge during 2024.

Ron Eastwood

It's helped this podcaster grow into a.

Dave Jackson

Better podcaster and I really enjoy the interaction with the people who are there every week.

Dave Jackson

And when I miss a week, I feel like I've missed out.

Ron Eastwood

So I go and listen to that first thing on Monday morning.

Dave Jackson

So anyway, my favorite podcast of the year, Ask the Podcast Coach.

Dave Jackson

And Dave, keep up the good Work.

Ron Eastwood

And I wish you and everyone else.

Dave Jackson

Listening a very, very prosperous 2025.

Dave Jackson

There you go.

Dave Jackson

Thank you, Ralph.

Dave Jackson

And if you're not aware, that is a show I do every Saturday.

Dave Jackson

We do have a lot of fun.

Dave Jackson

And for more information about Ralph, if you want to, especially if you're running your podcast as a business, you got to check out the Ask Ralph podcast.

Dave Jackson

He's been doing finances for decades.

Dave Jackson

Multiple, multiple decades.

Dave Jackson

And he's a great guy.

Dave Jackson

Thank you so much, Ralph.

Ron Eastwood

Hey, Dave, it's Randy Black, the host of Bible Bites.

Dave Jackson

If I had to pick a podcast.

Ron Eastwood

That would define as my favorite for 2024, I'm going to go with the same one I've had for several years.

Dave Jackson

And that is no Agenda, hosted by.

Ron Eastwood

Adam Podfather Curry and John C.

Ron Eastwood

Dvorak.

Dave Jackson

No Agenda takes the media, breaks down.

Ron Eastwood

What they're saying, and shows us why what it is they're saying may not always be in our best interest.

Ron Eastwood

If you get a chance, you can.

Dave Jackson

Go check it out.

Ron Eastwood

Head over to noagendashow.net Again, this is.

Dave Jackson

Randy Black, the host of Bible Bytes.

Ron Eastwood

E Y T E S because I'm a techie geek like that.

Ron Eastwood

And you can find the show@bible-bytesbytes.com thank you, Randall.

Dave Jackson

Yeah, Randall's one of those guys that Ralph was talking about, is in the chat room of Ask the Podcast Coach.

Dave Jackson

But yeah, Bible Bites, it's your virtual Sunday school inspiring faith one bite at a time.

Dave Jackson

And again, because Randy's a nerd, bite is byte links to everyone will be out in the show notes@schoolofpodcasting.com 964 and I also will say, the one thing I like about the no Agenda show is number one, they have 900,000 people listening to their episodes or something ridiculous like that.

Dave Jackson

And they're from all over the world.

Dave Jackson

And when you just take a single story and look at it from the US media and then look at it from the UK media and then the Canadian media and the Australian media, it's really, really interesting.

Dave Jackson

So, yeah, that's a great show.

Dave Jackson

That is not easily copied.

Dave Jackson

Let's throw it over to Kim.

Ron Eastwood

Hi, Dave.

Ron Eastwood

This is Kim Newlove from the Pharmacist Voice podcast and the Perrysburg Podcast.

Ron Eastwood

My favorite show of 2024 is the erectile Dysfunction Radio Podcast, which you can find@enrectioniq.com Now, I know that this title sounds PG13, but just to give you some background on the show, this is a sex therapist talking to an audience of people who are trying to learn about erectile dysfunction.

Ron Eastwood

It's nothing to giggle about.

Ron Eastwood

I know that many people really struggle with it, men and then their spouses or partners by extension.

Ron Eastwood

So I want to recommend this to your listeners.

Ron Eastwood

Every single time an episode dropped, I was listening to it.

Ron Eastwood

I used this podcast as prep work or research for two podcast episodes on my own show in 2024.

Ron Eastwood

One of the episodes was in February for Valentine's Day.

Ron Eastwood

We were talking about PDE5 inhibitors like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra.

Ron Eastwood

And the other episode I was prepping for was in November, November 2024 and it was a Men's Health Awareness Month episode.

Ron Eastwood

We were talking about the erectile dysfunction that men experience post prostatectomy.

Ron Eastwood

This is a group of people who have had their prostate removed due to prostate cancer.

Ron Eastwood

Although I was a listener for clinical reasons, I can see how this podcast would benefit many, many people, men and women alike.

Ron Eastwood

So that's a little bit about the Erectile dysfunction radio podcast.

Ron Eastwood

Again, you can find that@enrectioniq.com if you are in need of the content of that podcast.

Ron Eastwood

I wish you well and I definitely recommend that you listen again.

Ron Eastwood

This is Kim Newlove from the Pharmacist's Voice Podcast and the Perrysburg Podcast.

Ron Eastwood

A little bit about both of those shows.

Ron Eastwood

The first podcast is the Pharmacist's Voice Podcast which you can find@the pharmacistvoice.com we talk about pharmacy topics and careers so my audience feels connected to the profession of pharmacy and inspired to contribute to it.

Ron Eastwood

After all, I am an Ohio licensed pharmacist.

Ron Eastwood

The second show that I run is the Perrysburg Podcast.

Ron Eastwood

I live in a small town called Perrysburg, Ohio and I created the podcast that I needed when I moved to town back in 2007.

Ron Eastwood

You can find the Perrysburg Podcast at perrisburgpodcast.com it's an informational podcast for prospective new and current Harrysburg, Ohio residents.

Ron Eastwood

We talk about what's in Harrisburg and why people like to live here.

Ron Eastwood

Happy New Year everybody and happy podcasting.

Dave Jackson

Thank you Kim.

Dave Jackson

Yeah, I think local podcasting is something that's going to be even more on the rise in the future.

Dave Jackson

I just see where local media.

Dave Jackson

I'll give you an example.

Dave Jackson

If I look at the newspaper for Akron, Ohio, it's almost the exact same stuff as Cleveland or not.

Dave Jackson

Well, Cleveland, true, but Cleveland is also the same as Columbus.

Dave Jackson

It's like there's very little actual local news coverage, which is really sad because that means all the politicians can do whatever they want.

Dave Jackson

And because that was Kim Newlove.

Dave Jackson

And in a couple questions of the months ago, she said, you should say more what you're using.

Dave Jackson

So right now I'm talking into the Rode podmic USB into a Rodecaster, which I've been tweaking my noise gate because it's driving me nuts with my furnace coming on and off.

Dave Jackson

So hopefully that's not super noticeable.

Dave Jackson

And right now I am using the Dialogue Enhance plugin from Accentize.

Dave Jackson

And what that does is right now, as I click on it, it's pulling a heck a lot of mids out of my voice.

Dave Jackson

But it's supposed to automatically EQ everybody.

Dave Jackson

And as you might imagine on this kind of show, I need that.

Dave Jackson

And then I'm using also from Accentize DX Revive Pro, which will cut out any kind of room noise and reverb.

Dave Jackson

Now that is not a cheap plugin, but I'm here to tell you I do audio from people that don't know how to record audio in a decent way.

Dave Jackson

And that has saved me so much time.

Dave Jackson

And then just for some sweetener, I'm running it through waves GW voice centric, just to add a little bit of sheen because sometimes the noise reduction gets a little aggressive.

Dave Jackson

So we put some of that back on.

Dave Jackson

But thank you so much, Kim.

Dave Jackson

And I didn't even mention the why of that show.

Dave Jackson

Obviously really helpful because the people that are in that situation need some information.

Dave Jackson

They're like, you know, again, a lot of snickering could be done here, but when you're like, nope, let's be adults and let's talk about what our options are here and what's working and what's not, that is hugely helpful.

Dave Jackson

And again, are you going to get that on tv?

Dave Jackson

No.

Dave Jackson

Are you going to get it in a newspaper?

Dave Jackson

No.

Dave Jackson

Are you going to get it in a magazine?

Dave Jackson

Maybe.

Dave Jackson

But in the end, this is why podcasting is amazing.

Dave Jackson

Because not everybody needs that show, but the people that need that show need that show.

Ron Eastwood

Hi Dave, this is York from Welcome to Earth Stories.

Ron Eastwood

Thinking back on 2024, I have a lot of favorites.

Ron Eastwood

I mean, I'm one of those people that listen to so many podcasts.

Ron Eastwood

I mean, I'm subscribed to about 194 shows and to think about, well, which one is my favorite, that's difficult.

Ron Eastwood

But the show that gives me a lot of joy, gives me practical advice and makes me smile and that's Pod Tastic audio.

Ron Eastwood

I've been listening since the very first episode until now.

Ron Eastwood

And his show is just Incredible.

Ron Eastwood

He's sort of like my kindred spirit when it comes to audio because he's a purist, just like me.

Ron Eastwood

He gets into the weeds where he talks about microphones and just treating your room and making sure that your audio is right.

Ron Eastwood

That's what I like about his show.

Ron Eastwood

It's relatable.

Ron Eastwood

He's a cool dude and there is no pretense with him.

Ron Eastwood

What you see is what you get.

Ron Eastwood

And that's what I like about Chris.

Ron Eastwood

Also, sometimes he shares his personal life when he's not podcasting, because I like to hear that as well.

Ron Eastwood

When I listen to certain shows, I.

Ron Eastwood

I don't want to just hear about the topic at hand.

Ron Eastwood

Some people just want to hear the facts, you know, just the facts, ma'am.

Ron Eastwood

I like to hear things that are not even pertaining to the show.

Ron Eastwood

Even when he's not doing his show, his social media feed, sometimes he throws in jokes here and there and he talks about his vacations and just personal things that's going on with him.

Ron Eastwood

And it makes me even more, I guess, loyal to him as a podcaster, as a person.

Ron Eastwood

Just that personal touch that he does.

Ron Eastwood

They say that content is king, but not all the time, because I could get the content somewhere else, but it's how Chris presents it.

Ron Eastwood

He's just a professional on the microphone and off of the microphone as well.

Ron Eastwood

To listen to his show, you could go on pawtasticaudio.com and for a totally different show, please check out welcome to Earth Stories.

Ron Eastwood

My show is like a cross between, well, let's put it this way.

Ron Eastwood

Say, for instance, the Twilight Zone and Black Mirror had a baby.

Dave Jackson

York, I'm going to jump in here.

Dave Jackson

That is the coolest way to describe this show, because we kind of know what you know.

Dave Jackson

The Twilight Zone.

Dave Jackson

And you measure them, you go like, wait, what if I put those together?

Dave Jackson

What would it sound like?

Dave Jackson

And that creates an information gap to where your brain goes, wait, what would that sound like?

Dave Jackson

And you want to go over and click play, let's go back to York.

Ron Eastwood

Well, that baby will be welcome to Earth Stories.

Ron Eastwood

So if you like sci fi audio on the crazy side, then listen to my show.

Ron Eastwood

We're going into season eight next year, and we've been doing this since 2017.

Ron Eastwood

You could check out all the details on my website at welcome to earthstories.com Merry Christmas, Dave, and thank you for everything that you do.

Dave Jackson

Thank you, York.

Dave Jackson

You can't see it, but when I hit play and heard your voice come out in my headphones, I was like, yes, it's York.

Dave Jackson

How cool.

Dave Jackson

And Chris from Podtastic Audio go way back.

Dave Jackson

I think he was on the podcast Rodeo Show.

Dave Jackson

I kind of helped them.

Dave Jackson

It was Chris and Christine show, and when they first started out, I was kind of helping them out with that.

Dave Jackson

And so it's always interesting to, to see the student, you know, emerge now and who is also helping people.

Dave Jackson

So very cool.

Ron Eastwood

Hello, this is Wolfman Mike of the 70s versus the 80s podcast.

Ron Eastwood

And the one podcast that I never missed in 2024 was Beach Too sandy, Water too wet.

Ron Eastwood

This is the podcast where they read one star reviews over dramatic music.

Ron Eastwood

So they read Reviews from Yelp TripAdvisor for example.

Ron Eastwood

Recently they just did reviews of holiday yard inflatables.

Ron Eastwood

They did reviews of snow shoveling services and reviews of trampoline parks.

Ron Eastwood

I just really admire this podcast because they tapped into such a simple premise.

Ron Eastwood

I mean, they have this never ending harvest of comedy gold because people always want the world to know exactly what they're thinking.

Ron Eastwood

And they are more than happy to give a one star review to a cave tour because of the ambiance of the place.

Ron Eastwood

So I think everybody should check out that podcast.

Ron Eastwood

It's a brother and sister team.

Ron Eastwood

They've been on for a while now, and I think they're really starting to hit their stride.

Ron Eastwood

And the shows always sound fresh.

Ron Eastwood

And speaking of fresh, over at the 70s versus the 80s podcast, we just went through the holiday season.

Ron Eastwood

So for the Halloween episode, we did the song Werewolves of London by Warren Zevon and we tried to figure out why it was not in the movie American Werewolf in London.

Ron Eastwood

For the Thanksgiving episode, we talked about Turkeys Away by WKRP in Cincinnati.

Ron Eastwood

We decided that that was the greatest half hour in sitcom history.

Ron Eastwood

But then for Christmas, we did the 1978 Star Wars Holiday special, and we decided that might be the worst two hours in the history of television.

Ron Eastwood

So if these discussions aren't too controversial for you, you can always check us out at the 70s versus the 80s podcast where you can find us on Facebook and X Twitter.

Ron Eastwood

And Dave.

Ron Eastwood

Yeah, I'm sorry, before you yell at me, our New Year's resolution is to get a webpage with a domain name.

Ron Eastwood

Even got me convinced to go over to Captivate.

Ron Eastwood

But it's.

Ron Eastwood

It's baby steps, Dave.

Ron Eastwood

It's baby steps.

Ron Eastwood

And I wish all the other podcasters out there good luck in 2025 and I hope you can take some baby steps with us.

Dave Jackson

Dude, I love this so much.

Dave Jackson

This does.

Dave Jackson

It makes my heart warm.

Dave Jackson

That is Podcasting.

Dave Jackson

I love the fact one star reviews read over dramatic music.

Dave Jackson

This reminds me a lot of 2005.

Dave Jackson

This is the kind of wacky stuff people were doing that it's, it's kind of like we were trying to not be the radio and we were, you know, we weren't talking like this and it was crazy wacky stuff.

Dave Jackson

Just to see if it would work was super creative.

Dave Jackson

Now I'm not sure that we're as creative.

Dave Jackson

Maybe we are.

Dave Jackson

I'm just not aware of it.

Dave Jackson

I mean, back in 2005, if there was a new podcast, all the other podcasters would know about it because there was only about 30 of us at the time.

Dave Jackson

And Wolfman, see, when he says Wolfman, I expect him to sound like this baby, but it's.

Dave Jackson

That's a whole other wolf Man.

Dave Jackson

And I got some trivia for you.

Dave Jackson

Do you know who the first time one very young Jon Bon Jovi sang on an album, it was some sort of Star Wars Christmas album.

Dave Jackson

And it was like something about R2D2 or something like that.

Dave Jackson

I heard him talking about that, I think on the Hulu thing.

Dave Jackson

But thank you so much for the answer.

Dave Jackson

That, that made me laugh.

Dave Jackson

That literally that was lol.

Dave Jackson

I was lolling, but sawing the scenes here.

Ron Eastwood

Hi Dave, my name is Harris and.

Dave Jackson

My favorite show for 2024 was Founders.

Dave Jackson

The website for that podcast is found@founderspodcast.com.

Ron Eastwood

The podcast is by David Senra, who has read 373 novels about the greatest business founders of all time.

Ron Eastwood

Each episode is about a single book.

Ron Eastwood

David takes about six hours to read the book.

Ron Eastwood

He then turns it into a one hour podcast and I play it at double spe.

Dave Jackson

So it only takes me half an.

Ron Eastwood

Hour to basically read a book.

Dave Jackson

That would have taken six hours after 373 of them.

Ron Eastwood

I've learned a tremendous amount about the greatest founders.

Ron Eastwood

It's perhaps the greatest life hack I have found.

Dave Jackson

And as a lifelong learner, my battle is to gain as much knowledge as.

Ron Eastwood

I can with the amount of limited time that I have left on the planet.

Ron Eastwood

And if I can consume 373 novels that I would have loved to read in only half an hour each, what greater way to gain knowledge quickly?

Ron Eastwood

In fact, there's so much information, it really should be a college course, because who better to learn from than the greatest founders?

Ron Eastwood

As for my podcast, I do a podcast about the law with my daughter Nicolette Cohen.

Ron Eastwood

It can be found at her law firm's website, Buckhalter b u C-H-A-L-T-E-R.com under the tab Nicolette.

Ron Eastwood

Thanks for all you do, Dave Harris.

Dave Jackson

Thank you so much.

Dave Jackson

And if you heard it underneath there, he didn't come out and say it, but we all figured it out.

Dave Jackson

That guy is saving Harris a buttload of time and getting a lot of value.

Dave Jackson

And so when you can save your audience time, they're going to thank you for that.

Dave Jackson

That's a huge bonus that you can deliver to your audience.

Dave Jackson

Thanks so much.

Ron Eastwood

Hey Dave and School of Podcasting listeners.

Dave Jackson

It'S Chris Nesse from not House of Ed Tech, but from a new podcast.

Ron Eastwood

I started in 2024 with my wife Caitlin, Perpetual Syndication.

Ron Eastwood

Before I tell you about that, let me tell you about my favorite podcast in 2024 and it is a repeat and it is Al and Jerry's post game podcast.

Ron Eastwood

Al and Jerry work on the Boomerang show on WFAN Sports Radio in New York City and their podcast is recorded after the radio show is over.

Ron Eastwood

And they don't talk about sports.

Ron Eastwood

Al and Jerry occasionally talk about things.

Dave Jackson

That happened on the Boomerangeo show, but.

Ron Eastwood

They mostly talk about how robots are taking over the world, rats are taking over New York City, and how most.

Dave Jackson

Of the people that live in Florida are somewhat crazy.

Dave Jackson

It makes me laugh, it makes me.

Ron Eastwood

Think, it entertains and sometimes it educates me and I just find it fascinating and I feel a connection with Al and Jerry.

Ron Eastwood

So I'm recommending Al and Jerry's post game podcast and the podcast I'm representing.

Dave Jackson

Here is again Perpetual Syndication, a podcast.

Ron Eastwood

I do with my wife where we watch classic TV shows one show at a time.

Dave Jackson

We are currently in our first season.

Ron Eastwood

And we are re watching Home Improvement starring Tim Allen and Patricia Richardson.

Ron Eastwood

Would love it.

Dave Jackson

If anybody in the school of podcasting.

Ron Eastwood

And your community wants to check it out, you can find it at PerpetualSyndication TV.

Dave Jackson

Happy New Year, Dave.

Dave Jackson

And Happy New Year again to everybody in the school of Podcasting community.

Dave Jackson

There you go, Chris.

Dave Jackson

Thank you so much for that.

Dave Jackson

Always great to hear from Chris.

Dave Jackson

Many moons ago, a member of the School of Podcasting and it's been fun watching Chris branch out with his House of Ed Tech.

Dave Jackson

He's like the king of ed tech now.

Dave Jackson

And my favorite was for a while, I think his son was 7, his son was doing a podcast about vacuum cleaners because he was just obsessed with them.

Dave Jackson

And so anytime I know Harris was doing a show with his daughter, anytime I hear about parents doing a podcast with her children, that's great.

Dave Jackson

And now he's doing one with his wife.

Dave Jackson

So the the couple that.

Dave Jackson

Oh, I was going to say pod together, but I would want to smack my own self for that.

Dave Jackson

I hate when people like shoehorn the word pot into stuff, but anybody that creates together relates together.

Dave Jackson

There you go.

Dave Jackson

Poet didn't even know it.

Dave Jackson

Next up, we got Lewis and he brought some production.

Ron Eastwood

Hi Dave, and thanks so much for giving me a chance to weigh in on my favorite podcast of 2024 while shamelessly promoting my own podcast.

Ron Eastwood

This is Lewis Goodman and my podcast is Love Thy Lawyer.

Ron Eastwood

Find us at www.lovethy lawyer.com.

Ron Eastwood

we interview judges, lawyers, mediators, investigators, the occasional police officer, and some legal business advisors.

Ron Eastwood

Basically anyone who has some connection with the legal profession.

Ron Eastwood

We explore the lives of lawyers and their careers.

Ron Eastwood

I'm a lawyer and many of my friends are lawyers and lawyers as a group are fun to talk with.

Ron Eastwood

So check out my podcast Love thy lawyer@lovethylawyer.com it's like love thy neighbor, but love thy lawyer.

Ron Eastwood

And now to answer your question, the podcast that I really have found this year, have listened to and found so interesting and enjoyable is the Commentary Podcast and you can find that@www.complymented.org.

Ron Eastwood

i do not miss the Commentary Podcast.

Ron Eastwood

Full disclosure, I'm a bit of a news and political junkie.

Ron Eastwood

I live in Northern California.

Ron Eastwood

I subscribe to the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, and several other center left publications.

Ron Eastwood

For a long time I've known about Commentary magazine, which has been around for some 75 years, but I'm not sure how I came to the podcast.

Ron Eastwood

Their view is center right with a New York Jewish flavor.

Ron Eastwood

These people are smart, funny, and unafraid to take on anyone.

Ron Eastwood

The independent point of view that they provide on news and politics and cultural matters is as refreshing as anything I've heard all year.

Ron Eastwood

If you want to hear some really smart people discussing the news of the day, check out the commentary podcast www.complymented.org and let me know what you think.

Ron Eastwood

And that's really easy to do if you go to the Love Thy Lawyer website because you can message me right from there.

Ron Eastwood

Thanks Dave.

Ron Eastwood

Happy New Year.

Dave Jackson

Thank you Louis.

Dave Jackson

Yeah, it's interesting if you think about if we just go back to let's go back to before I was around.

Dave Jackson

If you look at like the early 1960s, that's before my time.

Dave Jackson

I know I'm old, but I'm not that old.

Dave Jackson

But Walter Cronkite.

Dave Jackson

Walter Cronkite.

Dave Jackson

But it's like in the US like everybody got their news from like one dude.

Dave Jackson

And now new shows are, you know, some are far right, some are far left.

Dave Jackson

Then we talk about the no Agenda show.

Dave Jackson

It kind of just makes fun of everybody.

Dave Jackson

And so it's interesting hearing how like I get half of my, some of my news.

Dave Jackson

I get a lot of it from no Agenda.

Dave Jackson

I'll talk about what my favorite show is here in a bit, but I also watch things like Last Week Tonight, which is definitely left leaning but hilarious and it talks about stuff that I go, why isn't this on the mainstream?

Dave Jackson

And so again, going back to Kim Newlove, this is where local can really take off because nobody's govern it anymore.

Dave Jackson

So thanks guys.

Dave Jackson

We'll get to my favorite and a few others right after this.

Dave Jackson

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Dave Jackson

Let's send it over to the one and only Zita Christian.

Ron Eastwood

Every morning when I open my podcast app, I check to see if David Hooper has published a new episode of Build a Big Podcast.

Ron Eastwood

It's a marketing resource for those like me who want to grow their audience, establish themselves as an authority, and make money with their podcast.

Ron Eastwood

I love this podcast because the content comes through the lens of a storyteller.

Ron Eastwood

David talks about his career in radio and how he has had to deal with unreasonable agents, inebriated guests, and sometimes ethical dilemmas.

Ron Eastwood

He talks about how he handled those situations and he offers advice to podcasters in case we ever find ourselves in that same podcaster pickle.

Ron Eastwood

David also shares personal stories that I suspect other podcasters might want to bury.

Ron Eastwood

Like the time he had a panic attack on stage, or the time he finally got to interview his number one dream guest, Dolly Parton on Music Business Radio.

Ron Eastwood

The interview itself went great, and that's no surprise.

Ron Eastwood

That could have been the only part of the story that David later talked about on Build a Big Podcast.

Ron Eastwood

Instead, he also shared the conversation he had with his producer while they were on standby for Dolly.

Ron Eastwood

Because that was also being recorded.

Ron Eastwood

There was no mistaking how nervous David was, how starstruck, and as listeners later heard in the produced interview, how thoroughly prepared.

Ron Eastwood

I'm Zita Christian.

Ron Eastwood

I have two podcasts on ritual recipes.

Ron Eastwood

I share rituals for weddings, funerals and other rites of passage, as well as seasonal and goddess inspired rituals for spiritually minded women.

Ron Eastwood

That website is ritualrecipes.net on my other podcast, My Spouse Has Dementia.

Ron Eastwood

I share personal stories, occasional interviews, and simple rituals to help family dementia caregivers survive because about 40% of us die first.

Ron Eastwood

That website is my spouse has dementia.com Dave, thanks for creating this community.

Ron Eastwood

It's great to be here.

Ron Eastwood

And to everyone, Happy New Year.

Dave Jackson

Happy New Year, Zita.

Dave Jackson

And you will hear a because of my podcast story from Zita in next week's episode.

Dave Jackson

But David Hooper is a great guy.

Dave Jackson

He's been on this show.

Dave Jackson

If you want to hear about the Dolly Parton episode, go to schoolofpodcasting.com 904 I don't do these a lot, but on occasion I will hear an episode and then just dissect the crap out of it.

Dave Jackson

And so that episode is kind of a miniseries called why Is this Great?

Dave Jackson

And that was a great episode.

Dave Jackson

And Dave is a great guy.

Dave Jackson

She mentioned how he brings in these stories.

Dave Jackson

That's a classic example of making a point with a personal story to where people then feel like they know you.

Dave Jackson

So if you haven't checked out the podcast, check it out.

Dave Jackson

And also the book is great because it's a great book and it's a weapon, like you could take somebody out.

Dave Jackson

It is a thick book, but it's an easy read.

Dave Jackson

And yeah, David Hooper, always a great choice.

Dave Jackson

One of my favorite people, got to be a roommate with him once, many, many moons ago, I think.

Dave Jackson

A podcast movement.

Dave Jackson

Craig Wieland, you're up buddy.

Ron Eastwood

My podcast of the year for 2024 is a podcast called the Bugle.

Ron Eastwood

B U G L E the Bugle, the tagline is an audio newspaper for a visual world.

Ron Eastwood

It's a satirical news podcast and it's hosted by a British guy called Andy Zaltzman.

Ron Eastwood

He has guest comedians come on to join him.

Ron Eastwood

Recently he's had John Oliver on the show and every week they look at what's happening in the world and they comment on it from a satirical, humorous point of view.

Ron Eastwood

There is obviously a British angle to the podcast, but they do cover stories from all over the world and they also have comedians and social commentators come on the show from all over the world, from India, the us, Australia, everywhere.

Ron Eastwood

Why do I like it so much?

Ron Eastwood

Some of the episodes are hilariously funny, laugh out loud funny as far as I'm concerned.

Ron Eastwood

And all of the episodes talk about what been happening in the world in a light, conversational, entertaining way.

Ron Eastwood

And that keeps me informed and it keeps me entertained.

Ron Eastwood

It's not a podcast for everyone, but if you enjoy satire and silly comments on what are quite normally fairly depressing world events, this podcast definitely might be for you.

Ron Eastwood

Happy new year to one and all and all the best for you.

Ron Eastwood

2025 my name's Craig from English podcast.com and we help non native speakers improve their English.

Dave Jackson

Thank you so much, Craig.

Dave Jackson

And that this for me is what I'm going to go listen to.

Dave Jackson

That's exactly what I love.

Dave Jackson

Again, everything will be out@schoolofpodcasting.com 964.

Dave Jackson

Now this next one is.

Dave Jackson

And when this happened, I was like, oh no.

Dave Jackson

Oh no.

Dave Jackson

Ron Eastwood sent me his as a text message, you know, email.

Dave Jackson

And I was like, oh, oh no.

Dave Jackson

He does.

Dave Jackson

Let's see.

Dave Jackson

I do have a podcast.

Dave Jackson

Oh, I don't have a podcast.

Dave Jackson

That's why he sent me a message, an email.

Dave Jackson

That makes sense.

Dave Jackson

So what I did was, rather than listen to me read it, well, let's let 11 labs read it for him.

Dave Jackson

So for the record, this is not Ron Eastwood.

Dave Jackson

This is.

Dave Jackson

This is a just in this case, it's Andre who is known for his smooth audiobooks at 11 labs.

Dave Jackson

And so this is not Ron Eastwood, but it's.

Dave Jackson

It's a robot doing a pretty good job of reading Ron's email to me.

Ron Eastwood

My favorite podcast of the past year is the Truce podcast hosted by Chris Starron.

Ron Eastwood

You can find that@ trucepodcast.com his tagline says, this is the show that uses journalistic tools to look inside the Christian church to explore how we got here and how we can do better.

Ron Eastwood

Why do I love it?

Ron Eastwood

I grew up in the influence of conservative Christianity and the religious right.

Ron Eastwood

It was not drummed into me, but more like the waters that I swam in.

Ron Eastwood

Truce is examining historical events and I am finding that there is more to history than I was taught or chose to remember.

Ron Eastwood

And this year, a lot of the content has been events that I lived through.

Ron Eastwood

And I am finding there was a lot of things I missed in my understanding.

Ron Eastwood

Besides the content itself, Chris does an amazing job of keeping it from becoming dry by mixing in sound effects, other voices, and sometimes settings where he is recording.

Ron Eastwood

And don't worry, Chris does all this without becoming political.

Ron Eastwood

Like Sergeant Joe Friday.

Ron Eastwood

He just wants the facts.

Ron Eastwood

I would recommend Truce for anyone who grew up in the church.

Ron Eastwood

As for me, I am probably a unicorn in your audience.

Ron Eastwood

I don't have a podcast and don't aspire to have one.

Ron Eastwood

I am a broadcaster, part of the Mornings with Brian team on WCRF in Cleveland.

Ron Eastwood

You can find us@moodyradio.org Cleveland or on the Moody Radio app.

Ron Eastwood

We try each morning to discuss today's issues from a biblical perspective.

Ron Eastwood

Not just news, but family issues, relationships, personal finance, and whatever else pops up.

Dave Jackson

Thank you, Ron.

Dave Jackson

Or in this case, again, everyone that is not really Ron.

Dave Jackson

That is Robo Ron.

Dave Jackson

And it's not even like I didn't clone his voice.

Dave Jackson

I just was like, hey, let's let this read that.

Dave Jackson

And I appreciate that.

Dave Jackson

And I've actually met Chris.

Dave Jackson

I got to talk to him a fair amount at the Spark Christian Podcast Conference.

Dave Jackson

And if you haven't heard, Misty is no longer going to do that.

Dave Jackson

She's moving in a different direction.

Dave Jackson

And so that's going to leave a hole in the Christian podcast conference sphere or whatever.

Dave Jackson

So if you've ever thought of maybe I should do a conference for Christian podcasters, there's a need for that because we're all kind of going like, we support Misty because I'm here to tell you, anybody that does any kind of meetup, any kind of conference, that is a huge amount of work.

Dave Jackson

And I know the last two years it just about like took her out.

Dave Jackson

It's just an amazing amount of stress.

Dave Jackson

It's a great conference and I thank her so much for that.

Dave Jackson

I'm so thankful that I can say I went to every, you know, Spark conference, but those are at this point, you know, on the back burner coming back ever.

Dave Jackson

We'll see.

Dave Jackson

But right now, no.

Dave Jackson

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Dave Jackson

Well, here's something I've never done in the past because, well, it didn't really exist.

Dave Jackson

So I just exported all of those answers, had it transcribed using Otter AI, copied that and pasted it into Chat GPT.

Dave Jackson

And what was my exact prompt?

Dave Jackson

I said, so I asked some people what their favorite podcast was, but the main part it was looking for was why it was their favorite.

Dave Jackson

I had their answers transcribed.

Dave Jackson

Here are the answers and then I pasted the transcription and the thing I actually asked was, can you summarize their answers into a paragraph about why some podcasts resonate with their audience?

Dave Jackson

And here's what Chad GPT said.

Dave Jackson

It said podcasts resonate with listeners when they offer unique content, connect personally and serve a clear purpose.

Dave Jackson

Shows like the Stacking Benjamin show captivate with their creative, light hearted approach to complex topics like finance.

Dave Jackson

One no agenda intrigues by analyzing global media narratives with humor and insight.

Dave Jackson

Personal connection is key, as seen with Ask the Podcast Coach, where live interactions foster a loyal community, or podtastic Audio, where the host's relatable personality and behind the scenes glimpses build trust.

Dave Jackson

Some listeners value educational depth and efficiency, like Founders, which distills biographies into actionable lessons.

Dave Jackson

Haven't used the word distills a lot lately, but that's just me continuing on.

Dave Jackson

Others gravitate toward a niche or local content like the Erectile dysfunction radio podcast, addressing sensitive issues with professionalism, or, and here's the interesting part, the Perrysburg Podcast, offering hyper local insights.

Dave Jackson

Because, I mean, it picked that up, but that wasn't one of the whys, like, you know what I mean?

Dave Jackson

So that's interesting.

Dave Jackson

Humor and originality also shine with beach too sandy, water too wet, turning one star reviews into comedic entertainment.

Dave Jackson

Ultimately, podcasts resonate when they balance entertainment value and authenticity, making audiences feel informed, inspired, or simply connected.

Dave Jackson

I'm going to keep that last line.

Dave Jackson

Ultimately, podcasts resonate when they balance entertainment value and authenticity.

Dave Jackson

That is the word for 2025 in my book, making audiences feel informed, inspired, or simply connected.

Dave Jackson

So that's why I always say if you can make a point in your show with a personal story.

Dave Jackson

You heard how York was talking about how he feels like he knows Chris because he shares part of his life.

Dave Jackson

And I'm like, that's awesome.

Dave Jackson

He kind of made it sound like there are times when Chris is just like, hey, I had French toast today.

Dave Jackson

That's not really my jam.

Dave Jackson

But hey, sometimes people want to know what kind of jam you're putting on that French toast or whatever it is.

Dave Jackson

So it's.

Dave Jackson

It's something you can't get anyplace else.

Dave Jackson

And in some cases, it can save you time.

Dave Jackson

I mentioned AI Goes to College.

Dave Jackson

That's my buddy, Craig Van Slyke.

Dave Jackson

And I was talking to him, I go, man, I can't keep up with all these AI tools.

Dave Jackson

And he's like, yeah, that's why you need to listen to my show.

Dave Jackson

And so again, sometimes you save people time.

Dave Jackson

You're serving their audience, and that's the value.

Dave Jackson

So I thought that was rather interesting.

Dave Jackson

I've been.

Dave Jackson

I definitely use more chat, GPT and perplexity than I have in the past three months.

Dave Jackson

So now what the heck is my favorite show and why?

Dave Jackson

And I'm gonna cheat because I made you pick one.

Dave Jackson

I'll just give you some.

Dave Jackson

Some honorable mentions.

Dave Jackson

And the one was really interesting.

Dave Jackson

The other night, I went out and saw a movie, the Fire Inside, about this female boxer.

Dave Jackson

If you haven't seen it, definitely see it when it comes on streaming.

Dave Jackson

Great story.

Dave Jackson

But I'm driving home and it's raining and it's dark.

Dave Jackson

And this makes me sound like I'm old, but I hate driving in the rain at night.

Dave Jackson

And it dawned on me.

Dave Jackson

I hated that when I was in my 20s, but I was kind of, you know, you're gripping the.

Dave Jackson

The wheel A little more.

Dave Jackson

And I put on Bandrew says with Bandrew Scott.

Dave Jackson

And what was interesting is I tune into Bandrew to hear about YouTube and Mike stuff, and he was not talking about any of that stuff.

Dave Jackson

He was talking about his favorite movies, his favorite music.

Dave Jackson

And Bandrew and I, I feel, have a lot in common.

Dave Jackson

We both kind of like dark humor, we both play the guitar.

Dave Jackson

We both self deprecate on a regular basis.

Dave Jackson

And it was kind of like letting in my friend, my very talkative friend.

Dave Jackson

And he sat in the front seat and just started telling me about all his favorite stuff and it really chilled me out.

Dave Jackson

So is the Bandrew says podcast my favorite?

Dave Jackson

But no, it was an interesting experiment.

Dave Jackson

And again, I feel like I know Bandrew even though you know that I know that I know that you know that I don't really know him.

Dave Jackson

I know what Bandrew does behind the mic and it makes me laugh and it informs me.

Dave Jackson

So there's that.

Dave Jackson

And then the show I listen to the most every day.

Dave Jackson

I start off with Pod News podnews.net with James Kridlin.

Dave Jackson

I hear that before I get out of bed.

Dave Jackson

That is almost my alarm clock.

Dave Jackson

Basically, I have your flash briefing from the woman in the tube from Amazon.

Dave Jackson

I have it set up to play that.

Dave Jackson

It gives me the weather, tells me what is going on, and then James come on.

Dave Jackson

And then I think I get a Bible verse or something like that.

Dave Jackson

So is that my favorite show?

Dave Jackson

No, but definitely the most listened to.

Dave Jackson

And I like the extended dance version that is Pod News Weekly with Sam Sethi.

Dave Jackson

Great show.

Dave Jackson

And I'm actually supporting that show monetarily because it's a great show.

Dave Jackson

So what's your favorite show, Dave?

Dave Jackson

And I think I'm gonna go.

Dave Jackson

And this might be because it's not a podcast about podcasting, because that's what I listen to 95% of the time.

Dave Jackson

And that show is no agenda.

Dave Jackson

And I think there are a couple things.

Dave Jackson

Number one, I've been listening for many years now, and so I feel like I know those guys.

Dave Jackson

I also know the host or one of them.

Dave Jackson

I know Adam Curry in kind of a.

Dave Jackson

Like, know him in a showbiz kind of way.

Dave Jackson

Like, he knows me.

Dave Jackson

I know him.

Dave Jackson

Got to hang out with him at a conference, at the Spark conference.

Dave Jackson

Got to meet his wife, so we're aware of each other.

Dave Jackson

Got to appear with him on stage.

Dave Jackson

That was great.

Dave Jackson

So it's always great to hear Adam.

Dave Jackson

And I go back with Adam back to 2005.

Dave Jackson

He was the first podcast I ever Heard which was, we don't need no stinking transmitters.

Dave Jackson

The daily source code.

Dave Jackson

And so the reason I like this show is I hate the media.

Dave Jackson

Basically think it's crap.

Dave Jackson

I think right now the NFL is putting on a classic example of how to just cheese off your audience because it's hard to find their product.

Dave Jackson

Their product isn't very good.

Dave Jackson

Netflix made $150 million to have football, American Football Roy on Netflix.

Dave Jackson

And the games were awful.

Dave Jackson

And now you have to pay to see more games.

Dave Jackson

And I'm.

Dave Jackson

I just think in the next five to 10 years, we're going to see the NFL kind of maybe have to think about how they treat their fans.

Dave Jackson

So in general.

Dave Jackson

And I like when I watch the news and they're like, hey, our top story this morning is, hey, the new red cup is out from Starbucks.

Dave Jackson

I'm like, do you think I don't know that's a commercial?

Dave Jackson

And when I hear them say things like, bird flu is up by, you know, 48%, I'm like, yeah, but how many people is that?

Dave Jackson

Because if you have two people and you go up to, I don't know, four.

Dave Jackson

Never do math, by the way, live.

Dave Jackson

But that could be 40 something percent.

Dave Jackson

It's just the media just so.

Dave Jackson

I love the fact that the no Agenda show takes it, deconstructs it, and they'll point out things like, hey, like they just put out an episode and it was interesting about.

Dave Jackson

It was just clips about COVID which has been, you know, four years ago.

Dave Jackson

And you forget all the weird reports that we were going through because we didn't know what we're going through.

Dave Jackson

But that was interesting.

Dave Jackson

And they put that out because they were on a vacation.

Dave Jackson

But I like the show and there are parts of it I really don't like, but this is the ultimate value for value show.

Dave Jackson

And I actually give them $11.11 every month because I like their show.

Dave Jackson

And they will.

Dave Jackson

Then they have a section where they thank the people that made the artwork for each episode.

Dave Jackson

And I'm listening in my car.

Dave Jackson

I'm not looking at the artwork.

Dave Jackson

I don't care about that.

Dave Jackson

But that's okay.

Dave Jackson

I understand that that artwork can help them get found.

Dave Jackson

And so those people that make the artwork are on Team no Agenda, and so am I.

Dave Jackson

And then the thing that makes them the best is all these people watching.

Dave Jackson

And then if you donate, like they have people in episodes donate a thousand dollars.

Dave Jackson

And maybe donate is not the right word.

Dave Jackson

I can hear my buddy Ralph going, quit saying donate.

Dave Jackson

You have to Be a nonprofit to do that.

Dave Jackson

But you get the idea.

Dave Jackson

And they'll have literally people donate hundreds of dollars and in some cases thousands of dollars.

Dave Jackson

Well, that's a part that for me, although they can make it very entertaining, they play a lot of sound clips on that and sound effects that can be somewhat entertaining, but at times not so much.

Dave Jackson

But I'm getting an idea of the news that I need to pay attention to because the right is too far right, the left is too far left.

Dave Jackson

And they make fun of both of them and in an entertaining way.

Dave Jackson

And it's can be at times two hours long.

Dave Jackson

And I still at times go, oh, it's over.

Dave Jackson

Because I will fast forward through the parts that I don't like.

Dave Jackson

But it's.

Dave Jackson

It's serving me.

Dave Jackson

It's.

Dave Jackson

It's saving me a lot of time by not watching the news.

Dave Jackson

And I know if there's.

Dave Jackson

Because I come out on Thursday and Sunday, so I've noticed something comes out on Tuesday.

Dave Jackson

If it's really important, they'll talk about it on Thursday.

Dave Jackson

And if they don't talk about it, well, it wasn't that important.

Dave Jackson

So it's an interesting play.

Dave Jackson

And then I also, like I said, I watch last week, tonight, and things like that.

Dave Jackson

So that's my favorite show.

Dave Jackson

And I think the reason why is a.

Dave Jackson

It's information I can't get anyplace else because nobody else is giving me, you know, the headlines from Holland and, you know, Australia and Switzerland and Denmark.

Dave Jackson

And I'm feeling like a very stupid American that's geographically challenged right now.

Dave Jackson

And so I can't get that anyplace else.

Dave Jackson

And they do it in a fun, entertaining way.

Dave Jackson

They have a lot of jingles and there's jargon over there.

Dave Jackson

You'll.

Dave Jackson

You meet somebody from no Agenda.

Dave Jackson

They'll go, oh, in the morning, that's like their greeting when.

Dave Jackson

That's like their inside joke.

Dave Jackson

In fact, there are times when they will get on the news, like they will be like a call in person, you know, live from Peoria, we have Brendan.

Dave Jackson

And it's like, hey, you know, Larry, in the morning, I have a question.

Dave Jackson

And they don't.

Dave Jackson

It's just this weird greeting.

Dave Jackson

And it's.

Dave Jackson

It's the way.

Dave Jackson

It's their secret handshake that if you ever hear somebody on the radio or on TV start off with hey, in the morning.

Dave Jackson

And then they go under their thing.

Dave Jackson

That's their way of saying, I'm a no Agenda lister, which is kind of cute in a way, but that's why?

Dave Jackson

It's my favorite.

Dave Jackson

And I want to thank everyone who chimed in on this.

Dave Jackson

I want to say hey to Tim.

Dave Jackson

Tim, I'm going to throw your thing in next week.

Dave Jackson

Tim unfortunately sent me the Hindenburg file and not the finished MP3, which is not the first person to do that, by the way.

Dave Jackson

And I just don't have time to.

Dave Jackson

To get this in.

Dave Jackson

I've got my schedule and I got to get this out.

Dave Jackson

And so we'll get that in there.

Dave Jackson

But it's out at school of podcasting.com 964.

Dave Jackson

Because I'm definitely going to go listen to some of these.

Dave Jackson

I was like, oh, I got to go check that out.

Dave Jackson

And as we wrap up this episode, I do want to thank everyone who listens to this show.

Dave Jackson

And because there are ways you can support this show, right?

Dave Jackson

You give me your time.

Dave Jackson

I appreciate that some of you give me your talent by chiming in on the show.

Dave Jackson

I love that some of you give me your treasure and become members of the school of Podcasting.

Dave Jackson

Or you'll buy me a coffee or.

Dave Jackson

And I always love when I see this, if somebody's in a Facebook group or Reddit and somebody goes, hey, like, I'm looking for a coach or a consultant.

Dave Jackson

I need somebody who's not going to, you know, sell me a bunch of hui, as my grandma used to say, for three easy payments, you know, and somebody goes, oh, man, you got to listen to Dave Jackson School of Podcasting.

Dave Jackson

When I see that, that always makes my heart go pitter patter.

Dave Jackson

And I appreciate everyone who's put me out there as the guy to come listen to.

Dave Jackson

I see that, and I appreciate that more than I can probably say right now.

Dave Jackson

That always makes me feel good.

Dave Jackson

My ego loves that, you know, we're gonna be honest.

Dave Jackson

My ego's like, yeah, we're number one.

Dave Jackson

So thanks, everybody.

Dave Jackson

I look forward to 2025.

Dave Jackson

I will be doing things with video more in the future, not because I'm going to use my YouTube channel to promote my audio channel, because I don't really think that works.

Dave Jackson

I know there were reports that came out that people do combine both and they'll start listening on YouTube.

Dave Jackson

Here's.

Dave Jackson

Here's the point.

Dave Jackson

This is a new one.

Dave Jackson

So many people say, well, the thing with YouTube is people will turn on your video and then just listen to it in their pocket.

Dave Jackson

And so here's something to think about.

Dave Jackson

So you're going to go buy a bunch of lights, you're going to start showering, you might put on some makeup, maybe shave a little so that you can be on video, so that these people that are pushing the numbers saying that, you know, podcasts are booming on YouTube so that those people cannot look at you while they listen.

Dave Jackson

I'm like, that's something that went, hmm, there's.

Dave Jackson

There's something to think about when you're doing video, when you're, you know, combing your hair and everything else.

Dave Jackson

I'm doing this so somebody cannot watch me.

Dave Jackson

That's interesting.

Dave Jackson

So with that, I will say again, I deeply appreciate you taking time to listen to me this year.

Dave Jackson

Anytime you have feedback, I'm always open for that.

Dave Jackson

In fact, let me say this because I didn't mention it this week.

Dave Jackson

If you haven't taken the audience survey, I made it for you.

Dave Jackson

So you can help me make this show better for you.

Dave Jackson

Go to schoolofpodcasting.com survey and then click on the button, you can take the survey.

Dave Jackson

It's less than probably two minutes, and I'm doing that to make a better show for you.

Dave Jackson

So thank you so much.

Dave Jackson

Happy New Year.

Dave Jackson

Take care.

Dave Jackson

God bless.

Dave Jackson

Class is dismissed.

Ron Eastwood

If you like what you hear, then go tell somebody.

Ron Eastwood

If you like what you hear.

Dave Jackson

There is as much creativity because everybody's like, how can I start a true crime show and make do as little as amount of money crap.

Dave Jackson

My brain and my mouth have gone home for the day.

Dave Jackson

That's because Alexa just told me it's midnight.

Dave Jackson

Well, I should probably hit stop.
